Siemens NX 2506: Die wichtigsten Updates

Mit dem neuen Release verfügt NX über weitere Verbesserungen, die das Konstruieren leichter und effizienter machen. Unsere NX Experten haben hier die wichtigsten Neuerungen für Sie zusammengestellt:

Fundamentals

Ambient Shadow Enhancement: You can now display ambient shadows when you use the Shaded display style.

Clipping planes enhancement

NX now automatically updates the clipping planes. To do this, clear the Deactivate Auto Z Clipping Deactivate Auto Z Clipping Planes Update check box in the visualization preferences.

Personalized content recommendations in Discovery Center

Select Similar Edges enhancements
The Select Similar Edges command is updated to let you select a shape region by selecting a part or by
selecting from the reuse library. You can also adjust the results using a sensitivity bar.

Shape Region Object enhancements
The Shape Region Object command is updated to let you select Edge Regions in addition to Face
Regions. You can also adjust the results using a sensitivity bar. The Sensitivity slider lets you adjust the results.

Roles enhancement
The High Definition presentation role is retired.


Design

NEW Sketch Navigator

New Sketch Checking

Sketch: Curve creation command enhancements

Line from Midpoint command by selecting a midpoint and the line extends in
both directions.

You can use the improved Rectangle from Center command which automatically creates a
reference center line and center point.

New curve creation interactions:

  • Press and drag MB1 to create a new curve, and release MB1 to finalize the action.
  • To move the start handle of a line or arc, click MB1 on the handle, then drag it to a new location.
  • You can trim or extend existing curves while creating curves by scribbling the pencil curse over a
  • curve without selecting the Trim or Extend commands.
  • You can now lock the direction of a line by the following:
    • MB2 when previewing the snap condition.
    • Pausing the cursor motion automatically locks the direction
    • Clicking MB2 or shaking the cursor unlocks the direction.
  • You can use the new Line and Arc commands and the MB3 options to do the following:
    • Activate Chain Curves to create a profile of curves. The new Chain Curves option replaces the legacy Profile command.
    • Switch between creating lines and arcs.
    • Automatically snap to tangent and perpendicular to the preceding curve in the chain.
  • In the new Line, Arc, and Rectangle dialog boxes you can do the following:
    • Lock the Length, Angle, Radius, Diameter, Width, and Height of curves.
    • Stamp multiple curves with locked parameters.
  • Select the Chain Curves check box to create a profile of curves. The new Chain Curves check box replaces the legacy Profile command.
  • Select the Create Reference Geometry check box so you don’t have to change them from active to reference after you create them.
  • While creating a line, you can right-click to select, Segment Only, Add Infinite Line, or Infinite Line Only.

Modeling

Boolean enhancements:

The Subtract and Intersect commands have selection, intersection, and empty feature enhancements.

Offset Surface enhancement:
You can now identify surfaces that are repaired.
Faces that are repaired because of self intersections can be identified.

Through Curve Mesh enhancements:
When you create a Through Curve Mesh surface, you can select the Split Output along Boundary
Curves check box, NX produces better G1 continuity.


Lattice Designer enhancements:
The Lattice commands now let you fill void areas and have new boolean options.

Generating designs in Design Space Explorer using sampling methods:
You can now generate designs using the available sampling methods to ensure optimal coverage of your design variables and design space. Prioritizes equal sampling across the entire range of each design variable.

Algorithmic Feature enhancements:
Algorithmic Modeling is enhanced to support associative selection, body modification and other necessary functions to enable robust modeling updates. For example, these Algorithmic modeling enhancements can be used to create sophisticated patterns with better performance than the Variational Pattern command.


Part Families enhancementThe usability of Part Family and Reuse Library is enhanced by allowing you to define a different body
colors for each part family member.

Point Set enhancements:
A new subtype for the Curve Point type named Set of Points on Curve has been added.

Assemblies

Multi-configuration design:

Simplifies the comparison of different products and/or revisions in the same session.

The main product can be edited or saved.

Extended scale in assemblies:

You can open a meter or micrometer part in NX.

To edit the Part you need a Mach3 nx_multi_scale_license.

Interpart Navigator enhancements:

Context-dependent link relationships, relationships for interpart expressions and WAVE links are displayed. Pack Nodes, is „on“ by default. The „Link Type“ filter has a new „Interpart Expression“ option.

Open suppressed components in a new window:

You can now open suppressed components from the assembly navigator in a new window.

Resolve Constraints and Redefine Constraints dialog box enhancements:

The improvements make it easier to position components that have unresolved constraints after adding, copying or cutting and pasting within your assembly.

Load related geometry for multiple constraints:

Prerequisite à Enable this feature in the „Early Access Feature“ dialog box.

You can now manually load the constraints of minimally loaded assembly components in order to update their positions.

Simultaneous Engineering in NX X:

You can now work collaboratively with other designers on the same assembly or even the same part in NX X. You can see who else is working when other users save, check in, or check out parts that you are following.

Other users are represented by their avatars, which are circles with their initials next to the search box. These avatars are in the top right corner of the Ribbon bar. The avatar for a user is shown while the user has one or more parts that you are following checked out.

You can click an avatar to open a contact card with the name, email address, and reason why that person is shown in your session. The contact card also has a Join Group Chat option that you can click to enter a chat with that person in Microsoft Teams.

You can copy a link to a part or an assembly and send it to other users. The link goes directly to the managed data in Teamcenter. For example, if you post the link in a Microsoft Teams chat, other users in the chat can click the link to open the part in Active Workspace.

Join

Show and hide join features

You can control the visibility of join features in the graphics window using the Show and Hide command.

Point Join enhancements

When you create point joins, you can now inherit parameters from an existing point join of the same type.

Drafting

Hole and Thread Callout enhancements:

You can now create hole and thread callouts for the patterned holes that are created using the Simple method. For example a threaded hole and a counterbored hole:

Other hole types are:

  • Simple Hole
  • Countersunk Hole
  • Tapered Hole

When you select an instance of a patterned hole, the associated holes are highlighted in the graphic window. For example I selected an instance of the tapered hole and the countersunk hole type:

Surface Finish Symbol enhancements:

To create standard-compliant surface finish symbols, you can now select areal surface texture 25178-1 for the Surface Finish symbol, when establishing ISO drafting standards.

This option is available in preferences and customer defaults.

NX ISO Symbol enhancement:

When using the NX ISOSymbols, you can create new „a“ and „r“ characters, along with their derivatives, in notes, and labels, texts.

Feature Control Frame enhancements:

You can now create compound datums, apply the new basic, or BSC datum modifier, and add the new Datum Translation modifier in a Feature Control Frame symbol.

Make Stub Perpendicular:

You can now make a stub perpendicular to a leader without launching the edit dialog.

Datum Target Symbol enhancements: It´s now easier to control your text display for edit the leading and trailing zeroes, Decimal places und Decimal delimiters.

Drafting Preferences enhancement:

Automatic dimension line trimming in PMI stacks:

This behavior is also implemented when PMI objects are inherited into drawings from 3D model views, and when drafting views and objects are converted to corresponding model views and PMI objects.

Separate arrowhead settings for feature control frames:

In the preferences and customerdefaults, you can now set independently the color, style, and width for arrowhead lines for feature control frames.

Cable Router

Use the new Cable Router application to route cables through a network of complex rules and trays.

Routed System Designer

You can rebuild an Electrical Topology Path (ETP) having a cableway pattern applied to it without first removing the pattern geometry.

Sheet Metal

Bridge Bend enhancements:

You can now join two intersecting or overlapping sheet metal bodies by creating a fold transition that spans the full width of both edges of overlapping or intersecting bodies.

Enhancements to the PMI labels in a flat pattern

Use the new „Align with Bend Lines“ option in the PMI Preferences dialog box, to align PMI labels along the bend lines without a leader line.

Display information about the material thickness of a part in the flat pattern view.

Advanced Sheet Metal enhancements

Select the Advanced Sheet Metal check box on the Application tab à Design group à Toolbox list.
